International Centenary Rowing Regatta (25 September) when the world's best paddlers and rowers come to show their skills on the mighty Zambezi River. Dr David Livingstone famously viewed the falls on this day, though now we know that he was quite possibly not the first European to do so.
Livingstone had been told about the falls before he reached them from upriver and was paddled across to a small island that now bears the name Livingstone Island - a visit that tourists can emulate during low water seasons.
